Derren Brown visits The Green Room - 2014
Joe Sparks and Richard Allen founded Everyday in 2004, a not-for-profit organisation aimed to inspire young people to discover their brilliance through a unique learning programme of alternative education, theatre, dance, and film. Everyday Arts has been re-named to The Green Room Foundation Ltd. and remains the parent company to The Green Room Schools.
Joe Sparks founded The Green Room Windsor in October 2011. The aim was to help pupils who through no fault of their own, couldn't survive in mainstream schools. The Green Room Windsor began as a part time project with three pupils, helping them to re-engage with education. It became an Ofsted registered Independent School in 2014, judged as outstanding in October 2018
The Green Room Kingsley - March 2018
GRW Ofsted Inspection Results - 2018
The Green Room now operates as two independent schools, one in Windsor on a small site nestled in the Victorian streets, and the other in Kingsley, based on Old Park Farm, amidst 120 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside. Both schools offer unique opportunities for our learners but are bonded by the same ethos that drives our work.
The Green Room Windsor (GRW) also offers a 6th form provision, (GR6) designed to help pupils discover what they want to do at the end of year 11, providing an alternative path into adult life. This now includes a unique setting at The Swan Pub in Clewer, where pupils can re-engage with real life experiences and employment opportunities.
Our mission is to build confidence in learning and self awareness, and pupils can enjoy everything that The Green Room Schools have to offer. Pupils have access to animals, gardening, art, sport, therapy, English and Maths and Science. The Green Room can help reignite a passion for learning and provide a springboard back into full time education, either in mainstream or full time alternatives like The Green Room Schools.
