The Next Step
The destinations of all our learners are of paramount importance and we ensure Green Room pupils have a meaningful plan in place for where they would like to go next. This includes work experience, apprenticeships, supported internships, employment and further education. Our careers advice is impartial and has the best interests of our pupils at heart. We have a dedicated SENCO who will aid in the transition of all pupils to the completion of their next destination. We maintain strong links with our alumni who can always rely on our support as well as providing inspiration for our current pupils
This transition will take some pupils longer than others so in order to do this our Graduate Scheme is available for pupils up to the age of 25. The Scheme is staffed by our tutors and is coordinated by The Green Room Job Coach.
The Graduate Scheme is a bespoke scheme as the amount of time needed and the occupation desired differs for each pupil. Up to 16 hours per week are available and The Graduate Scheme is offered on a termly basis (there are 3 terms per year)
"Leaders ensure that students receive full careers support in planning their next steps. A dedicated ‘job coach’ and life skills sessions provide advice and guidance on subjects such as interview skills and effective communication. Students have the opportunity to take part in work placements, which enriches their sixth-form experience effectively. Students are prepared well for their next stage of education, employment or training'. - Ofsted
