Working With Parents and Carers

We strive to work in close partnership with parents and carers as together we help each pupil to make informed choices about their future.

We are always open to ideas and suggestions about how we can adapt our careers programme, or provide specific support, to further benefit our pupils.

There is a wealth of information available online to help you as parents and carers as you support your young person in making decisions about their future.

Talking Futures is a toolkit to support parents and carers in having meaningful careers conversations with your young person.

Target Careers publishes a range of resources, including Paths to Careers - A Parent’s Guide, to help think about the full range of post-16 options.

Careermap publishes a Careermag for parents which is free to subscribe to.

Amazing Apprenticeships produce a regular podcast - The Parent Perspective - as well as monthly Parents’ and Carers’ Packs containing all the latest information and advice about apprenticeships.

The Government publishes regular apprenticeship information here, alongside the option to browse apprenticeship opportunities based on interest and location.

Each year, we organise visits to a number of colleges and further education providers within our catchment area for pupils in Year 11 and 10.
