Minecraft Education

GRW year 9s and 10s had their first opportunity to use the brand new tech suite at The Swan. While this teaching space is filled with GR6 pupils for most of the week, the lower school takes advantage of the state-of-the-art technology (and gorgeous classroom) on a Friday. This term’s assignment is to use Minecraft Education Edition to create a world based on a story that is either new or already known. Some pupils are taking their inspiration from novels and films while some are forming their own world from scratch. They will use cross-curricular skills from English to make sure the world is complete with detailed settings and characters and the story is complete with a beginning, middle and end. Hopefully, when the project is complete, we can invite the community in to explore our virtual worlds and tell our stories! We are so thankful to have the space and the equipment to learn through the creative use of technology.
