Well done Alex!

We would like to say a massive congratulations and thank you to Alex Loveless for completing the 50K Thames Path Challenge yesterday! Alex has raised £896 for The Green Room Foundation, which will be put towards the renovation of the school room at The Swan Pub, where our sixth form (GR6), Graduate Scheme and Supported Internships will be based.

Here is Alex's story and a link to his JustGiving page

"The Green Room School help kids and young adults who, through no fault of their own, couldn't survive in mainstream schools. This includes a significant number of neurodivergent kids who benefit from the help to make the most of their amazing brains. Having ADHD myself, helping kids avoid what I went through at school is important to me.

In addition, The Green Room have joined forces with Windsor and Eton brewery and a growing group of Windsor locals to fund the renovation of The Swan pub in Clewer. As well as saving a piece of Windsor history from the clutches of property developers, and creating a vibrant social and community space, it provides a place for the Green Room sixth form students to house their common room and conduit for work experience, by way of manning the pub, that they may otherwise struggle to get.

Any funds raised by my run will go towards creating the best environment for The Green Room students to thrive and grow.

For my part, I've never even run a marathon before. But since I don't do things by halves, running 50km (31 miles) seemed the obvious starting point. The plan is to finish. If I don't finish last, I consider that a big bonus!I'll be running (walking, crawling) the 50km second half on Sunday 8th September from Runnymead to Henley."
