The Green Canteen
The mission of The Green Canteen is not only to provide delicious, freshly-cooked meals to guests of The Swan, but also to provide an opportunity for The Green Room College students to gain a genuine, real-world learning experience in hospitality & catering.
The Green Canteen dinner service is designed to stretch and extend our students in terms of their hospitality work experience.
Making the step up from the relatively cosy nursery slopes of an Epic Thursday to a busier evening pub environment is a challenge which we acknowledge and support. The rewards for students who accept this challenge are huge; increased confidence serving customers, more experience in a real work environment and even a share of the profits!
Students who work in The Green Canteen gain a mastery of their roles, and many have successfully taken those skills into the world of work.
