History Hunt

This week pupils at GR6, based at The Swan in Clewer, were getting to know their home a bit better with a history hunt of ancient Clewer - a settlement that predates Windsor itself. Small teams of explorers were tasked with discovering some of Clewer's most interesting historical tidbits, and enjoyed the walk through the leafy village in the last of the summer sunshine.  Some of the GR6 boys discovered one of the most notable graves in Clewer 's old churchyard, that of Owen Allum, a 17-year old Windsor resident and telegraph boy who sadly died in the Titanic sinking, way back in 1912.
